Silber: We’re close to naming-rights deal on P-Nats ballpark

New Potomac Nationals Ballpark

Potomac Nationals (High Class A; Carolina League) owner Art Silber says he’s close to a naming-rights deal for a proposed new ballpark at Potomac Town Center.

From InsideNOVA:

At the Jan. 20 dinner, Silber said several businesses are interested in the potential 10-year naming rights deal. He wouldn’t say which businesses he’s courting, but said he hopes to make an announcement by April. Silber said he’s also working on several smaller deals that could be worth up to $250,000 apiece each season.

The stadium is scheduled to open for the 2015 season. The next step in the process is signing of memorandum of understanding with Prince William County, Stonebridge developer Roadside LLC and the Commonwealth of Virginia, which has committed to paying for the adjacent parking garage.

The 2015 opening is new; previously the team had stuck to a potential 2014 opening.
