New name on tap for Amarillo ballpark

Potter County Memorial Stadium

With the Amarillo Dillas (independent; United League Baseball) gone, naming rights to the former Amarillo National Bank Dilla VillaPotter County Memorial Stadium for now — will be sold by Southern Independent Baseball, the ballpark’s new tenant.

The deal struck by the Dillas, according to former GM Mark Lee, covered more than just the ballpark’s name: it covered additional signage at the ballpark as well as other promotional opportunities. The bank was the biggest sponsor of the Dillas, but with the county terminating the team’s lease and entering into a new one with an American Association team, that deal ended.

The new lease gives Southern Indepedent Baseball the right to sell naming rights to the ballpark. You can bet discussions have already begun.
