The Inland Empire 66ers (High Class A; California League) and the Traverse City Beach Bums (independent; Frontier League) extended their current radio deals.
The 66ers’ deal with KCAA-AM 1050 will keep the team on the San Bernardino station’s airwaves through 2013.
“We are extremely excited to be continuing our relationship with KCAA,” said Inland Empire 66ers Assistant General Manager Ryan English. “66ers baseball is all about community and so is KCAA. Together we will continue to bring the best baseball experience to the people of the Inland Empire, both at the stadium and on the airwaves.”
“Look for AM 1050 KCAA and the 66ers to continue to be great community partners for the Inland Empire,” said Paul Lane, Bureau and Marketing Chief for KCAA. “Since 2007 the 66ers have been an integral part of our broadcast family, and I’m happy that we will continue this relationship for years to come.”
The 2011 season will be the 66ers fourth on KCAA. It will include once again the 66ers show on Friday’s live from the KCAA studios as well as special on location shows throughout the season.
“It is fantastic to have KCAA back,” said Inland Empire 66ers Director of Broadcasting Sam Farber. “Their commitment to this community plus their understanding of the place in history baseball on the radio holds makes them a perfect partner and one I look forward to working with again 2011.”
In Michigan, the Traverse City Beach Bums and Sunny Country 101.9, WLDR-FM, announced they have renewed their partnership for 2011. Sunny Country 101.9 will carry all 96 Beach Bums games home and away on Sunny Country 101.9FM, 750 WARD-AM Petoskey, and through online streaming as well.

Dave B. Goode, Program Director of Sunny Country 101.9, also expressed his excitement regarding the renewal. “We believe in the Beach Bums and they are a great asset for the community. It’s not hard to promote them. Sunny Country 101.9 is proud to be the official station of the Traverse City Beach Bums.
