The Frisco RoughRiders (Class AA; Texas League) garnered the attention of the sports world when they announced they would be expanding their pool area into a lazy river. The Choctaw Lazy River will be debuting on Friday, June 10 as part of a special event, as Dr Pepper Ballpark hosts Dirk Nowitzki’s 2016 Heroes Celebrity Baseball Game. Its first run during a Frisco RoughRiders (Class AA; Texas League) game will occur on Saturday, June 11, when the RoughRiders return for the beginning of a nine-game, eight-day homestand. (more…)
A major milestone has been completed for the Frisco RoughRiders’ (Class AA; Texas League) Choctaw Lazy River, which is now filled with more than 68,000 gallons of water. This puts the much-anticipated project on target for its June 11 opening. (more…)

We reported on this a month ago, and now it’s official: the Frisco RoughRiders (Class AA; Texas League) are installing a sponsored 3,000-square-foot lazy river and 12,000-square-foot outfield party and group hospitality area at Dr Pepper Ballpark, which should be up and running by early June 2016.
