Branding for the Rocket City Trash Pandas (Class AA; Southern League) is taking shape ahead of the 2020 season, as the club’s uniforms have been unveiled.
Following the 2019 season, the current Mobile BayBears will relocate to Madison, AL and become the Rocket City Trash Pandas. The Trash Pandas will play at a new $46 million ballpark that is currently being constructed at Town Madison, a mixed-use development located west of Huntsville along I-565.
Thus far, the process of rolling out the Trash Pandas’ branding elements has been gradual. The Trash Pandas name was announced last September, followed a month later by the unveiling of the logos. On Thursday, the club unveiled its uniforms, featuring five jerseys–including primary home and road jerseys, home and road alternates, and a camouflage uniform that will be worn to honor military service members.
The uniforms were unveiled during an event at Big Spring Park in downtown Huntsville. More from AL.com.
The Trash Pandas are slated to host their home opener at the new ballpark on April 15, 2020. Once they arrive, the Trash Pandas will be the first professional baseball team to call the Huntsville Metropolitan Area its home since the Huntsville Stars (Class AA; Southern League) played their final full season at Joe Davis Stadium in 2014. That franchise is now known as the Biloxi Shuckers.
