Udder Tuggers Branding a Success

Wisconsin Udder Tuggers

A one-night name change proved successful for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Low A; Midwest League), as fans responded positively to the Wisconsin Udder Tuggers branding.

The Timber Rattlers hosted their Salute to Cows promotion at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium on Thursday, and rolled out an alternate branding to accompany the promotion. For that game, the Timber Rattlers played as as the Udder Tuggers, complete with special uniforms (shown above) and a merchandise line.

Judged by the reported fan response, the promotion was a success. Udder Tuggers merchandise sold out within honors of the name being announced, while a reported crowd of 5,842 was on hand for Thursday’s game. More from FOX11Online.com:

“I think it’s a cool way to show support for the area farms and the dairy,” said Seth Muskavitch of Ripon.

“It’s different,” said Paul Eckes of Appleton. “We all have to support the dairy industry. We have milk every day.”

The team sold out of its new Udder Tuggers merchandise in just five hours when the name change was announced at the beginning of the month.

“It was just an amazing accomplishment and amazing reaction,” said Chris Mehring, Timber Rattlers media relations director. “We’re already on our seventh reorder of merchandise and fans just keep coming in from all 50 states wanting some Udder Tugger merchandise.”

To top it all off, the Timber Rattlers/Udder Tuggers pulled off a victory on Thursday, defeating the Clinton LumberKings by a final of 5-2.
