BB&T Point, the upcoming home of the High Point Rockers (independent; Atlantic League), is on track for its 2019 opening, according to the latest update.
Planned as the anchor of a larger redevelopment initiative, BB&T Point is currently under construction in downtown High Point. Ground was broken on the ballpark in April, and it has been slated for a 2019 opening.
As it stands, it appears that BB&T Point will be completed by next spring. An official from Forward High Point recently indicated that construction could be completed within the next six months, while noting the ballpark’s role in the broader development initiative. More from Fox 8:

Executive Director Ray Gibbs said Thursday that while the stadium will attract attention to downtown High Point, project leaders have their sights set on a bigger project.
“The real goal the city had with the stadium was not to simply bring baseball to High Point, but to become a catalyst for private development in the downtown area to activate downtown 52 weeks a year not just the two or three weeks a year that come with the furniture market,” he said.
The High Point team was officially approved by Atlantic League members in March. The league is playing with seven teams and a travel team in 2018; barring any additional teams, the Rockers will replace the Road Warriors in 2019. The Rockers will be the league’s first in the state of North Carolina.
