The Dragons Lair at Fifth Third Field will be overhauled before this season, as the Dayton Dragons (Low A; Midwest League) have unveiled a renovation. The change will bring some new group and hospitality amenities to the ballpark
The new Dragons Lair experience will feature newly-designed flooring, furniture, and amenities with an all-inclusive ticket that includes a ballpark buffet and souvenirs.
“Our new and improved Dragons Lair is a high-end, all-inclusive hospitality area, perfect for private entertaining and hosting of clients, employees, and families,” said Robert Murphy, Dragons president. “We created a brand-new ticketing product that we feel the fans will enjoy. We are creating a new group seating area … our newest upgrade to Fifth Third Field.”
The new Dragons Lair package comes with game tickets and a buffet featuring grilled hamburgers, all beef hot dogs, smoked pulled chicken, smoked pulled pork, mac and cheese, southern-style baked beans, watermelon, fresh-baked cookies, and unlimited non-alcoholic drinks. A cash beer and wine bar can be added. Everyone in the group also receives a Dragons hat and Dragons t-shirt. Dragons VIP services staff will be there to serve and wait on guests while they enjoy the game.
Attendees will be viewing the game from the newly-designed space featuring premium decking manufactured locally by AZEK Building Products, manufacturers for AZEK and Timbertech. The area will showcase AZEK’s low-maintenance, premium decking products, which are made in Wilmington, Ohio. Not only will the performance decking enhance the Dragons Lair through its pleasing aesthetics, it will also stand the test of time due to its durability and ability to resist mold, mildew, stains, insects, rotting and fading. The engineered material also doesn’t splinter or warp.
“We are really excited to be able to invest in the local community where our Wilmington office and manufacturing factory employees live and work,” said AZEK Building Products chief marketing officer Julia Fitzgerald. “We are proud to announce our multi-year naming rights agreement for the Dragons Lair, and we’re looking forward to getting involved with this great organization where fans can enjoy the new space. Better yet, the Fifth Third Field team won’t have to worry about deck upkeep, allowing everyone to truly enjoy the AZEK Dragons Lair.”
Significant investments like this AZEK Building Products partnership show that the Dragons’ ownership team is consistently reinvesting in the stadium and providing the ultimate fan experience for Dragons game day, noted Murphy. By creating this new hospitality area, fans will be able to take their entertainment experience with the Dragons to the next level.
