Revolution to Play as Revengers on June 19

York RevolutionTo spice up their celebration of Superhero Day on June 19, the York Revolution (independent; Atlantic League) will become the York Revengers. As part of the father’s day offerings at PeoplesBank Park, the team will don Revenger uniforms that will be auctioned off for charity, while featuring several other specials around the ballpark.

Revolution players and coaches will wear custom-designed, superhero-inspired jerseys and hats as they take on the Bridgeport Bluefish at 1 p.m. The game-worn uniform pieces will be auctioned off that same day to benefit the York Rescue Mission, which has worked for more than 50 years to meet the basic human needs of hundreds of thousands of York-area residents living below the poverty line and to equip, train, nurture, and guide them toward a better quality of life.

Inspired by the action-ready costumes of some of today’s most popular comic book and movie superhero characters, the Revengers jerseys feature the stylized Revolution “R” in the middle of an armored chest plate, while the day’s hats will place a red “R” on a black background.

Superhero Day will also feature appearances by costumed members of the Central PA Avengers and other superhero-themed activities as well as a special Father’s Day brunch in the air-conditioned White Rose Hall of PeoplesBank Park. The brunch menu will feature bacon and scrambled eggs, French toast and home fried potatoes, cheeseburgers, fruit salad, muffins, and a complementary mimosa for each adult 21 or older.
