Tim Bawmann is the new President of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, as the former Lowell Spinners/Nashua Silver Knights President/GM is hired to oversee operations of the NBA Developmental League team by the Indiana Pacers.
We have full details of the hiring at our sister site, Arena Digest.
Bawmann was General Manager of the NY-Penn League’s Spinners since 2003. During that time the team enjoyed a sellout streak spanning the course of ten seasons, record attendance, award-winning promotions, establishment of summer baseball camps, Scout Night sleepovers, appearances in the Futures at Fenway game, summer concerts and more. He also helped create the summer-collegiate Futures Collegiate Baseball League and established the Nashua Silver Knights, playing out of historic Holman Stadium.
It’s been a time of transition for the Spinners and Silver Knights, with owner Drew Weber in the midst of selling the Spinners to Main Street Baseball and an interim GM, Shawn Smith, in place in Lowell.
This is the second high-profile hiring from MiLB by an NBA Developmental League team in recent weeks: former Lake County Captains Vice President and General Manager Brad Seymour now heads the Windy City Bulls, the Chicago Bulls’ new team playing out of the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates.
