Well, there’s no way you can compete with this: Kanye West rented out AT&T Park, complete with string ensemble and scoreboard graphics, to propose to Kim Kardashian.
That the pair is marrying doesn’t come as a surprise: after all, they did produce one offspring already and are, by all tabloid accounts, happy together. But staging a routine event like this on a massive scale is how celebrities like West and Kardashian promote themselves. From the San Francisco Chronicle:
Kardashian, not a coy woman, gave an immediate yes as 50 musicians played songs including West’s “Knock Me Down.” Fireworks and candle-like flames were shot into the night sky, and West presented her with a 15-carat diamond ring.
West is to give a series of concerts in the Bay Area beginning Tuesday in San Jose. A bunch of friends and family members were on hand, and they ran out of the dugout when the proposal was accepted. The would-be groom is said to have asked his future mother-in-law, Kris Jenner, for permission to take the hand of his lady. Permission was granted.
