We expect a deal to come out of this, as the Toronto Blue Jays and Buffalo Bisons (Class AAA; International League) are talking about the parameters of a new player-development contract.
It’s a match made in heaven: it brings the Blue Jays back to the International League at a ballpark close to home, and it provides some great marketing opportunities for the Bisons, who have seen attendance slump under a PDC with the New York Mets. Many in baseball assumed the pair would hook up, and some high-level talks between the two sides could happen today.
There are only two potential parents available to the Bisons: the Mets and the Blue Jays. If the Bisons do end up with the Blue Jays, the last pair standing on the Triple-A affiliation front would be the Mets and the Las Vegas 51s (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League). More from the National Post.
