Revolution to share the bling this season

York Revolution rings

The York Revolution (independent; Atlantic League) are sharing the bounty of two consecutive championships, giving a ring to a lucky fan as part of a promotion.

As part of a May 1 pregame championship ring ceremony, the team will give away a real 2011 championship ring to a random fan present at the game. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a special scratch-off card. One of the cards will be for the grand prize of the same championship ring the Revolution players and coaches will receive on the field in the ceremony.

The winner of the ring will be asked to join the Revolution on-field as they receive their rings, and will be presented their prize on the field during the ceremony.

“Being fortunate enough to win a championship is a unique and special thing, and thanks to our players and coaching staff, we have the opportunity to have this unique and special promotion for a very lucky fan,” said Revolution President & General Manager Eric Menzer. “After all, without fans, while we still could play the game on the field, it certainly wouldn’t be the same!  They’re the point of the whole thing, and the way our fans have embraced our teams is pretty special, so it was important to us to add a fan element to this year’s championship celebration.”
