Despite some weather woes, it's been a good spring in the Cactus League — especially for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox and Seattle Mariners, who are breaking single-game attendance records.
In fact, the record for the largest crowd to attend a Cactus League game was broken four times last week, three times by the Los Angeles Dodgers at Camelback Ranch-Glendale. By day, here's how the record was broken:
March 18: 13,391 at Camelback Ranch-Glendale to see the Dodgers host the Chicago Cubs.
March 19: 13,413 at Camelback Ranch-Glendale to see the White Sox host the Cubs.
March 20: 13,444 at Peoria Stadium to see the Mariners host the Arizona Diamondbacks.
March 21: 13,506 at Camelback Ranch-Glendale to see the Dodgers host the Padres.
Of course, these records will not last. The Chicago Cubs could sell many more tickets to games if HoHoKam Park is expanded or a new ballpark built (more on that later), and we expect the Cubs to breaking these records in coming years.
