You never forget your first, and the Met was our first. It was a gorgeous summer night in the summer of 1979, and Roger Erickson was on the mound for the Twins. There was a ticket promotion that night, so the place was filled with Lutheran church groups. The final score didn't really count, and neither did the crappy seat location; what mattered was that after years of watching games on television and listening to Herb Carneal on the radio, we were finally attending our first Major League Baseball game.
