Manager Chris Carminucci will take over the business operations of the club, backed by a new group of investors, including Jack Shields, Bill Murray and Alan Seraita.Led by 2009 field manager Chris Carminucci, the Brockton Rox (independent; Can-Am Association) announced today a new management team and new set of investors for the 2010 season.
Investors include Jack Shields, Bill Murray and Alan Seraita, President & CEO of Hall’s Reports, who all recognize the club’s importance to the city of Brockton, the league, and the 1.2 million fans who have attended games at Campanelli Stadium since the team’s inception in 2002.
“This is exciting news for the team and for the city,” said Rox General Manager Brian Voelkel. “These past few months have indeed been challenging, but we are very thankful to our loyal fans and to the city for sticking by us and showing the patience needed to get this deal done.”
Carminucci, who led the Rox to a 56-37 record, the best winning percentage in team history, and a berth in the Can-Am League playoffs in 2009, returns for his second season with the club, and will now also oversee all business operations. “Having spent a year in the area, I’ve seen how much the Rox mean to Brockton. This area is full of generous and civic-minded individuals who want the team to succeed,” he said. “We have the best team in place to carry forward the Rox tradition.”
