Red Sox spring-facility plans could be unveiled next week

Plans for a new Boston Red Sox spring-training facility in Lee County could be unveiled as soon as next week.

Plans for a new Boston Red Sox spring-training facility in Lee County could be unveiled as early as next week, as county and team officials meet with architects to finalize a specific site and layout.

We already know the facility be located on 106 acres of land off Daniels Parkway, outside of Fort Myers and closer to the airport. And we know the ballpark will be designed as a miniature Fenway Park, complete with a Green Monster in left field

Past that, the specifics of the design need to be finalized. You can expect plenty of brick and other features designed to evoke one of America's supreme urban ballparks in the middle of Florida's swamps.
