ULB, developer announce plans for new downtown Dallas ballpark

The new ballpark for a United League Baseball franchise will be near the Trinity River near downtown Dallas, as part of a larger $500 million development.
A developer working in conjunction with Reunion Sports Group, the owners and operators of independent United League Baseball, is proposing a new ULB ballpark as part of a $500-million development near downtown Dallas and the Trinity River.

If the land for development is purchased out of foreclosure soon, the new ballpark could be open in 2010.

The issue: Financing for the project. The developer, Richard Seib, is working with Reunion Sports on private financing for the entire project, which would include a water park, 2,500 housing units and retail.
