The Harrisburg Senators (Class AA; Eastern League) unveiled four new picnic areas at Commerce Bank Park, part of the first phase of the two-phase $45-million renovation project on City Island.
These new picnic areas are located along the outfield boardwalk and will provide fans a completely new and unique view of the action on the field. With these additional picnic facilities, the Senators will have the ability to handle over 1,000 fans in all of their picnic areas.
One of the new areas is in right field below and in front of the new video board. The Senators are installing more than 100 new seats above the right-field fence, which will afford those fans a unique view of the game and an opportunity to catch a home run. The seats will also have access to a brand new bar being installed directly underneath the new video board. These new seats are all individual molded plastic seats much like the Senators existing box seats. The new boardwalk will be directly behind these seats, allowing fans in the right-field seating area easy access to walk around the outfield.
