Goldman Sachs and CIC Partners are also part of the new firm, Legends Hospitality Management LL. The press release issued by the firm says it will handle food and beverage, retail sales, and other stadium management services (presumably for events like concerts and meetings) for the new Yankee Stadium and the new Cowboys stadium.
"This partnership brings together two of the finest sports franchises and creates a business that will take advantage of their tremendous insight and expertise," said George Steinbrenner in a news release.
Mike Rawlings, former president of Pizza Hut, will head the new firm, which will be based in New Jersey. The Yankees have already indicated they’ll take a nontraditional approach to concessions; a new standalone steakhouse at the new Yankee Stadium, for instance, will not look onto the field of play at the ballpark and be positioned as a year-round venue.
