Giants fan severely beaten in Dodger Stadium parking lot; suspects sought

Los Angeles DodgersSome ugliness arising from MLB‘s Opening Day: A San Francisco Giants fan was severely beaten by Los Angeles Dodgers fans in the Dodger Stadium parking lot; he’s in critical condition and police are searching for his attackers.

The incident began after the Dodgers‘ 2-1 win over the Giants, with fans returning to their cars. A group of Dodgers fans began taunting Giants fans, and things quickly escalated to a brawl of sorts, with two Dodgers fans beating a downed Giants fan.

The fan is in critical but stable condition after suffering head injuries and is in a medically induced coma. Police have released composite sketches of his assailants.

It’s not the first time there have been incidents between Giants and Dodgers fans at Dodger Stadium, but they’re not exactly a regular occurrence, either. In April 2009 a stabbing incident took place after a Dodgers-Giants game.
