We have a repeat winner in the 2019 independent-baseball Best of the Ballparks vote, with fans choosing Impact Field, home of the American Association’s Chicago Dogs, as the champion.
In an all-American Association final, fans chose Impact Field over The Depot at Cleburne Station, home of the Cleburne Railroaders, by a 59-41 percent margin, in a battle between the 2018 and 2017 winners. Almost 124,000 fans voted in the independent-baseball bracket, with over 31,000 fans voting in the final round. Overall, over 565,000 fans have voted in the annual Ballpark Digest Best of the Ballparks fan vote, which covers spring-training, MLB, MiLB, independent and summer-collegiate ballparks.
“This is a great honor and we want to thank our partners at Impact Networking and the Village of Rosemont for bringing this vision to life,” said Chicago Dogs owner Shawn Hunter. “We also thank our passionate fans for making Dogs games a special event every night.”
“It’s really, really hard to repeat as a winner in our Best of the Ballparks fan vote, so it’s a real tribute to Impact Field and the Dogs ownership to see this year’s results,” said Ballpark Digest Publisher Kevin Reichard. “Impact Field is a great addition to Rosemont’s sports-entertainment offerings, so the fan vote is no surprise.”
Impact Field opened in 2018 as home of the Chicago Dogs. Located in Rosemont in suburban Chicago, Impact Field is part of the city’s entertainment district, which includes the Rosemont Theater concert venue, an ice rink, the 130-store Fashion Outlets of Chicago, the city convention center and more.
