We’ll see some new Goose Island Beer Company branding at Guaranteed Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox, in 2019, as the Chicago brewery will sponsor an outfield seating area and two craft-beer spaces.
Goose Island Beer Company launched in 1988 as a Chicago-based craft brewery before being purchased by Anheuser-Busch in 2011. The new Goose Island in the Guaranteed Rate Field right-field area will literally be an island, surrounded on all four sides with running water. Here’s a description of the space from the team:
“The Goose Island” transforms two outfield seating sections into a new space, featuring a variety of seating options. Rows will include field-level views, group party areas and individual seating as well as a fun, social space in a few standing-room rows near the outfield concourse. All areas of “The Island” will have in-seat service. A total of 326 seats will be available in the section.
The first few rows of “The Goose Island” will provide a modernized experience for fans with leather cushion seats complete with armrests and cup holders, device charging ports, television screens and shelves for storage. Seats for this area include in-seat service and $20 of loaded value with each ticket to be spent in-park on food, beverages or merchandise from the White Sox.
“It feels like a dream come true to bring Goose Island to the pride of the South Side,” said Todd Ahsmann, President of Goose Island Beer Co., said via press statement. “I’ve been a huge fan my entire life and can’t wait to celebrate in this new space. With great beer and promising team on the field, what’s not to look forward to?”
“‘The Goose Island’ and the Goose Island Craft Kave are going to be ‘must-visit’ spots for every fan who attends a White Sox game,” said Brooks Boyer, White Sox Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said via press statement. “Goose Island shares our passion for delivering a completely unique fan experience and this new section will not only add to the unique look of Guaranteed Rate Field, but also offer a cool game-viewing experience.”
As noted, Goose Island will also be sponsoring two craft-beer spaces at Guaranteed Rate Field: the bar area next to the visiting bullpen, which will be known as the Goose Island Craft Kave, and a walk-up bar accessible from the 100-level outfield concourse. Within the outfield concourse area, a 10-foot Goose Island tap handle statute will be featured overlooking the ballpark.
