The Fort Myers Miracle (High A; Florida State League) have made a major personnel decision, naming Chris Peters their new general manager. Peters replaces Andrew Seymour after seven years in Fort Myers. Seymour left the organization after the 2017 Playoffs to become the General Manager of the Palm Beach Cardinals (High A; Florida State League).
“Chris is a Florida guy and he is going to be a big hit with the Southwest Florida community, our fans and the Twins,” said Miracle principal owner Jason Hochberg.
Peters comes to the Miracle from the New Orleans Baby Cakes (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League), where he served as Director of Sales. This is a homecoming to Fort Myers of sorts for Peters as he was the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at Hammond Stadium in 2007.
“I would like to thank Jason Hochberg and the Fort Myers Miracle for this amazing opportunity,” said Peters. “I was born and raised in Florida, attended the University of Florida and Southwest Florida is where I want to raise my family. I cannot wait to meet all of the great Miracle season ticket holders, game day employees and fans along with the Minnesota Twins front office staff and Lee County officials. We are going to hit the ground running and 2018 will be our best season in franchise history.”
After his time in Fort Myers, Chris worked for the Jacksonville Suns (Class AA; Southern League) from 2007-2015. He was General Manager of the Suns from 2011-2015. During his time in Jacksonville, Chris was the Chairman of the Southern League Marketing Committee and voted Jimmy Bragan Southern League Executive of the Year in 2014.
Peters was born in Clearwater, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and a Master’s Degree in Sport Management. Chris will reside in Fort Myers with his wife Sandy, who had a brief stint as a concessions employee with the Miracle in 2007, and their two daughters.
