Chihuahuas Go Padres Retro Brown and Yellow

El Paso retro jerseys

This is so cool: The El Paso Chihuahuas (Class AAA; Pacific Coast League) are going retro on May 7 with 1970s style throwback jerseys featuring a brown body, yellow sleeves with brown trim and yellow San Diego Padres typography.

The game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off with the net proceeds benefiting Mike Dee’s Big Adventure. Dee is the Executive Producer and host of the Morning Show on iHeart’s Power 102.1 FM.

“We are proud to be able to support Mike Dee’s Big Adventure,” said El Paso retro jerseys, Chihuahuas general manager. “Mike and his group have been friends of the Chihuahuas since Day 1. Mike is a community leader and we are happy to work with him.”

“We have been a partner of the Chihuahuas since the inaugural season and have definitely enjoyed the positivity and the teamwork of the Chihuahuas,” said Dee. “Mike Dee’s Big Adventure is based on the same ideals of positivity, teamwork and fun! This will be very successful for the Big Adventure.”

Heading into its eighth year, Mike Dee’s Big Adventure offers children with disabilities a trip of a lifetime to San Antonio, Texas. The trip allows the selected children the opportunity to learn lifeskills and independent living by stepping out of their everyday life and having an unforgettable experience. Dee knows a thing or two about disabilities, as he himself is visually impaired.

“This comes at a perfect time as the auction will help assist us in our fundraising efforts,” Dee said. “Mike Dee’s Big Adventure makes an incredible difference with kids with special needs as it helps them prepare for their future. This auction is the perfect example of how two organizations can come together to make a difference in the El Paso community.”

Brown, of course, is a rare color in the baseball-uniform world. The Padres were the only MLB team to wear brown unis regularly.
