The dog park behind CHS Field has a new name, as a partnership with the St. Paul Saints (independent; American Association) has given Chuck & Don’s Pet Food & Supplies naming rights to the park.
At a sprawling 17,210 square feet, the dog park features numerous amenities, including a fire hydrant and several shaded locations. It proved to be a popular destination during the Saints’ first season at CHS Field, and the partnership with Chuck & Don’s will make make the ballpark even more dog-friendly.
In addition to naming rights of the dog park, the Saints and Chuck & Don’s three-year partnership includes outfield signage, in-store promotions and Chuck & Don’s-sponsored activities at select games. They will also be the sponsor of a very special promotion throughout the Saints season with The Pet of the Game. Chuck & Don’s will work with local rescue shelters to bring adoptable pets out to the ballpark and promote the benefits of adopting a rescued animal.
“In addition to making pets (and their people) happy, Chuck & Don’s is committed to making a difference in the communities in which we operate,” said Bob Hartzell, Chuck & Don’s CEO. “So naturally, the St. Paul Saints partnership and dog park sponsorship are a great fit.”
On Sunday, May 22, Chuck & Don’s will sponsor the Dog Day game at 5:05 p.m. The popular annual game allows fans to bring their pets into the ballpark, on a leash, and enjoy the game with the family. The first 1,000 fans on Dog Day will also receive a free Saints “Let’s Play Ball” Dog Bandana courtesy of Chuck & Don’s. Prior to the game, the dog park will officially receive its new name in a grand re-opening ceremony.
The Chuck & Don’s staff will be getting into the baseball spirit during the season by wearing special Saints caps at each of their 24 Twin-Cities Metro locations during Saints home games. Chuck & Don’s 25th store location is set to open in Woodbury later this summer, with the Woodbury location also set to join in on the action.
