We have two new members of the Lancaster JetHawks (High A; California League) front office for the 2016 season: Buck Rogers and Katie Woods.
Rogers joins the team as the Senior Director of Ticket Sales and Promotions as he enters his 20th season in minor league baseball. Most recently, Buck served as the General Manager of the Biloxi Shuckers (Class AA; Southern League) and oversaw the transition of the Shuckers as the team relocated from Huntsville prior to the 2015 season. Previous to his seven seasons in Huntsville, Buck was the General Manager of the Brevard County Manatees and the Daytona Cubs (both High A; Florida State League) and the Cape Fear Crocs (Low A; Sally League). Before finding a home in baseball, Buck served 14 years in the U.S. Army, primarily as a infantryman in the 82nd Airborne Division.
“We are excited to have Buck on board as we gear up for 2016,” said JetHawks Executive Vice President Tom Backemeyer. “His years of experience as well as his enthusiasm, energy and creativity will all be key in making this season a memorable one for Hawks fans of all ages.”
Also joining the JetHawks front office staff is Katie Woods (Crawford), who will be the team’s new Director of Marketing and Community Relations. Woods spent the last seven seasons with the Everett AquaSox (short season A; Northwest League), most recently serving as Assistant General Manager. In her time with the AquaSox, Woods oversaw community relations, marketing and media relations, as well as day-to-day operations and was named Northwest League Woman Executive of the Year in 2013 and 2015. Prior to the AquaSox, Woods interned in the Community Relations departments for the Houston Astros and Frisco RoughRiders (Class AA; Texas League).
“Katie brings a new energy to the staff,” Backemeyer said. “We think that she will help us revamp our community outreach efforts and connect with our fans and the whole Antelope Valley in fun and exciting ways.”
