2014 Summer Collegiate Attendance by Total

Ballpark DigestAt the end of the day, it does matter how many fannies are put in the seats. In that spirit, we present our ranking of 2014 summer-collegiate attendance, with teams sorted by total attendance.

The Northwoods League dominates this ranking, with eight of the top 12 teams. Part of that is a function of the longer season — 36 home games — but it also reflects the league’s emphasis on business as well as player development.

This doesn’t cover every summer-collegiate team: there are a few leagues that choose not to report the attendance numbers publicly, and there are some teams that don’t seriously track attendance numbers. That’s OK: in those cases we’re talking about good-quality community entertainment. Still, this listing should give you a good idea of the growth in the summer-collegiate industry.
