2013 Summer-Collegiate Attendance by Average

Ballpark DigestWe conclude our listings of 2013 summer-collegiate attendance with a look at average attendance — perhaps the most accurate way to measure the health of a franchise.

Because of the small number of games in many leagues, the attendance can vary greatly year to year, so you’re going to see more fluctuations here than in, say, the affiliated leagues. In addition, this doesn’t cover every summer-collegiate team: there are a few leagues that choose not to report the attendance numbers publicly, and there are some teams that don’t seriously track attendance numbers. That’s OK: in those cases we’re talking about good-quality community entertainment. Still, this listing should give you a good idea of the growth in the summer-collegiate industry: in the past you rarely had teams averaging over 1,500 fans a game and now you have the top 23 teams in this list reaching that mark.
