The new logo/wordmark for the Houston Astros was inadvertently leaked by vendors over the weekend, showing a revamped look that’s basically a variation of the team’s original cap logo and wordmark.
The images, posted by sportslogos.net, show a new Astros logo that is an update of the original 1965 Astros cap logo; the white-on-orange was used between 1965 and 1970, and then again in 1980 and 1993. The wordmark is also strongly reminiscent of the 1965-1970 uniform scheme.
An Astros spokesperson confirmed the logo and wordmark were legit.
The new look is set to be unveiled Nov. 2.
