Japan will field a team in the 2013 World Baseball Classic after player reps and Major League Baseball officials agreed on a new revenue split.
The issue: Japanese players wanted more of the proceeds of the tourney. In the past MLB has collected all revenues and distributed them to participating team; Japanese players had received 13 percent of the revenues despite some evidence the team was generating more than that percentage of the overall revenue scene.
