Saints add 0K race to annual Running of the Pigs

St. Paul SaintsExercise we can embrace: the St. Paul Saints (independent; American Association) will hold a 0K race as part of the team’s Ninth Annual Running of the Pigs on April 21.

Billed as a race perfect for an ultra marathon runner or couch potato, the 0-K race is the only competition in the world where everyone is on a level playing field. “Runners” in the 0-K receive a special T-shirt that says, “Zer0K World Record Holder,” a cold beverage following their grueling race, a post-race meal and a ticket to a future Saints game.

And, of course, there will be a real 5K Run/Walk, which begins at the Midway Stadium home plate and will take runners along Energy Park Drive towards Snelling Avenue and then towards Randolph St. before finishing inside the ballpark. The race will be officially timed.
