Shipley joins Revolution ownership

York RevolutionBill Shipley has joined the York Revolution (independent; Atlantic League) ownership group and will serve as the team’s vice chairman.

He joins team president and general manager Eric Menzer and Chairman Peter Kirk as a member of the ballclub’s senior management.

Shipley is the fourth-generation leader and CEO of Shipley Energy, Central Pennsylvania’s largest family-owned provider of residential and commercial energy products, including natural gas, heating oil, propane and electricity. The company also installs and services heating and air-conditioning equipment, operates Tom’s travel plazas and Sweet Arrow Springs water delivery service.

“Bringing a person into the ownership group with roots in York as deep as Bill’s is terrific for us and for the community,” said Kirk. “We are thrilled that Bill has the same confidence in the business that we do, and shares our vision for how the Revolution will continue to grow as an integral part of York.”

Shipley Energy has been a sponsor of the Revolution since their inaugural season in 2007.

“it is great to be able to translate our company’s involvement with the Revolution into this new role,” Shipley said. “I’m excited for the opportunity personally, and to help further strengthen the bond between the Revolution and York County.”
