The Miami Marlins have scheduled three exhibition games in early March to help break in their new home, Marlins Park.
The three exhibition games are slated for March 5-7. The first-ever baseball game to be played at Marlins Park — the working name of the ballpark until naming rights can be sold — will feature two local high schools: Christopher Columbus High School and Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. That game will be played on Monday, March 5, with the crowd limited to 5,000 fans.
The next two games will see the Marlins take on two local colleges. On Tuesday, March 6, the Miami Marlins will host the University of Miami, with the crowd limited to 10,000 fans. On Wednesday, March 7, the Marlins will take on Florida International University, and a total of 15,000 tickets will be sold for this game.
The three games will precede an April 1-2- series against the New York Yankees.
The first pitch for all three games is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. Single-game tickets to the UM and FIU games will go on sale Jan. 27, 10 a.m., at marlins.com.
