Ducks notch 600th sellout

Long Island DucksNice milestone for the Long Island Ducks (independent; Atlantic League): With a sellout at Bethpage Ballpark Saturday night, the franchise registered its 600th sellout in 12 years.

That’s an Atlantic League record, far outpacing the second-place Somerset Patriots, with 222 to date in their 14th year).

“It is a wonderful accomplishment to reach this milestone and a reflection of the tremendous support Long Island has shown the Ducks since day one,” says Ducks’ president/general manager Michael Pfaff. “It is a privilege to be able to provide affordable family entertainment for all Long Islanders and deliver a product all can enjoy.”

For 11 consecutive seasons, the Ducks have led the Atlantic League in attendance and continue to set the pace again in 2011. Earlier this season, the team also welcomed its five millionth fan through the gates when Andrea Pizzo of Commack passed through the turnstiles on Saturday, July 30 when the Ducks hosted the Road Warriors.
