The Lowell Spinners (short season A; NY-Penn League) will go for yet another World Record on June 29, when the team partners with the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) for “Floss Night,” featuring thousands of fans flossing their teeth simultaneously, using Glide floss picks donated to the MDS by Procter and Gamble.
It’s the latest attempt for a Word Record from the Spinners fans, whose previous accomplishments included the most people simultaneously popping bubble wrap as part of 2010’s “Celebration of 50 Years of Bubble Wrap,” and the world’s largest game of Duck, Duck Goose August 14, 2004 (recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records).
“We are very excited at the possibility of yet another World Record coming through LeLacheur Park,” said Spinners Master of Fun Jon Goode. “We’re in the business of creating memories and being part of a World Record is sure to be a moment fans will remember for years to come.”
Fans will receive their free Glide floss pick upon entry to LeLacheur Park, but be asked to hold back their excitement for flossing until the fourth inning. During the middle of the fourth inning, fans will be prompted to join the Spinners on-field MC, as well as Canaligator, Allie-Gator and more in attempting a new world record attempt. Fan-favorite Bristles will also be on hand for photos, autographs and more.
