The Pensacola Pelicans (independent; American Association) have a new Executive Vice President, Operations: Jonathan Griffith, formerly Vice President/General Manager for the Potomac Nationals (High Class A; Carolina League).
“Jonathan has a proven track record of success everywhere he’s been and we think he is the perfect fit for the Pensacola Pelicans,” said Pelicans owner Quint Studer. “We look forward to his leadership with the team and in the community.”
During his five-year tenure in Potomac, attendance at Pfitzner Stadium, increased by 12 percent and reached a high of 205,279 fans in 2010. The Potomac Nationals have been honored in receiving numerous community and customer service awards, including most recently the Prince William County Schools Business of the year in 2010.
Prior to coming to Nationals, he was the Assistant General Manager of the Kinston Indians (High Class A; Carolina League) and Stadium Operations Manager for the Richmond Braves (Class AAA; International League). While in Richmond, Griffith worked under Bruce Baldwin, current Pelicans President.
