Renovations to Riverfront Stadium, forced by 2008 flooding, are finally complete for the 2010 season.
The Waterloo Bucks (summer collegiate; Northwoods League) have faced a lot of adversity since the 2008 flooding in Waterloo that forced the closure of the ballpark.
Now, finally, the renovation of the 1946 ballpark is complete, as $1.1 million was spent on the ballpark infrastructure, including new clubhouses. Most fans attending games won't notice any differences — little was done to the seating bowl, which was largely unaffected by the flooding — but the players will: before the renovations they dressed offsite and were bused to the ballpark.
