Foodies were dismayed when Uncle Phil's Düsseldorf Mustard was replaced at Cincinnati's Great American Ball Park by Heinz brown mustard, but fans embrace the move.
Uncle Phil's Düsseldorf Mustard, the only mustard sold at Milwaukee's Miller Park, was chosen by the Reds to be the GABP mustard after team officials held a tasting contest to replicate the mustard served at Crosley Field. (That mustard, interestingly, was not a pure brown mustard: it was Frank's mustard mixed with Frank's Red-Hot Sauce. The mustard doesn't exist anymore; Frank's is now owned by French's.)
But vendor Delaware North Sportservice switch to Heinz brown mustard after switching pump technology and Uncle Phil's Düsseldorf Mustard was deemed unable to be dispensed with the new hand units. That's led some foodies and the Enquirer to ask when Uncle Phil's Düsseldorf Mustard was dumped.
Fans, however, seem to be embracing the new mustard. Last season fans went 2-1 in favor of Heinz yellow mustard versus Uncle Phil's Düsseldorf Mustard; this season they're going 3-1 in favor of Heinz brown mustard versus Heinz yellow mustard.
