Agenda set for Summer Ball Conference

The inaugural event will feature keynote speeches from Mike Veeck, Mandalay's Steve DeLay and Madison Mallards GM Vern Stenman, as well as an appearance by Ballpark Digest's Kevin Reichard.With the 2009 summer collegiate season recently coming to a close, teams all around the country already are beginning preparations for next season in hopes of making it a success. The inaugural Summer Ball Conference will provide teams with the knowledge and direction necessary to become elite in the summer collegiate ranks.

The Summer Ball Conference, which will make its premier November 8-10 in Gastonia, North Carolina, is summer collegiate baseball’s version of the Winter Baseball Meetings.

The conference, which will be put on and sponsored by UK Advertising, will take place at the Sheraton Charlotte Airport Hotel and will include the speaking and breakout sessions, the Big Panel, meals, and open bar at the trade shows.

Attendance will cost $149 for a representative of the organization and just $109 for any additional attendees of the same organization. There is also a special room block with rates starting at $82 per night available for conference attendees.

In addition, the Summer Ball Conference will feature Breakout Sessions that include Tickets, Sponsorship, Media Relations, Promotions and Marketing, Non-Traditional Revenues, Gameday Experience, Community Relations, Web Site and Social Networking, Web Revenue, Ballpark Usage and Improvements, Players, Host Families and Interns, and Mascots.

There will also be daily Trade Shows and a tour of the Gastonia Grizzlies Ballpark.
