After 46 home dates — five less than last year — the ThunderBolts broke two attendance records and reached a milestone attendance number.

First, 103,129 fans came through Standard Bank Stadium in 2009, a new attendance record. The old record was set last season in 2008 when Windy City had 90,616 pass through the ballpark gates. It also marks the first time that the Bolts surpassed the 100,000 mark in attendance.

The ThunderBolts also broke their per-game average at 2,242 per-game. The old record was when the then-Cook County Cheetahs averaged 2,054 fans per game in 1999, the first year in the Frontier League for the Cheetah/ThunderBolts franchise, and the opening of Standard Bank Stadium (then Hawkinson Ford Field).
