That's right: no baseball, but golf.
Not a total surprise: MLB decided to directly take on the Olympics with the World Baseball Classic, a move that tied national teams into the MLB sphere of influence. Truth is, there were more passionate supporters of softball than baseball pushing for Olympic reinstatement, but without a strong American lobbying effort, baseball's future in the Olympics always was pretty much doomed.
