It took the Fort Wayne TinCaps less than a half hour to sell out every fixed seat this season opener at Parkview Field; it takes longer to have a pizza delivered. It took the Fort Wayne TinCaps (Low Class A; Midwest League) less than a half hour to sell virtually every chairback seat at Parkview Field for the upcoming season opener. (We say virtually because the team is keeping some back for season-ticket sales and whatnot.) Still, for a team that struggled many nights to put decent crowds into Memorial Stadium, the level of sales was quite the accomplishment.
“The public interest and support was tremendous,” said TinCaps President Mike Nutter. “We have sold every fixed seat in Parkview Field, and are pretty close to selling out our lawn area as well. That’s a pretty good day in my book.”
And, of course, plenty of berm/SRO seating does remain.
