The Rochester Red Wings will star in a 13-episode public-television series, which will premiere in 2010.The Rochester Red Wings (Class AAA; International League) will star in a 13-episode public-television series called Minor League, which will air in 2010.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with Campbell Media Group and WXXI public broadcasting on this innovative project that will give fans around the world an up close and personal look at our players, organization, ballpark and town. To be selected out of all the other Minor League Baseball teams is a great honor and we are excited about the international exposure that Minor League will provide our team," said Red Wings General Manager Dan Mason.
Minor League will not only take a historical look at the Red Wings but bring you inside the clubhouse to see what it takes to make it to "THE SHOW" from a player’s perspective.
"What I like most is that you won’t necessarily have to be a baseball fan to enjoy the show because it will feature the everyday rollercoaster of emotions that our players endure during the season. We have some outstanding young men that will be playing here this season and this will give fans from all over a chance to develop a better rapport with them and follow them throughout their careers," added Mason.
Minor League will be made available to approximately 385 public television affiliates across the United States.
