The date coincides with the opening of a BART station in the city’s Warm Spring area, the team’s preferred site for a ballpark.

But that date is hardly written in stone. There’s still a lot of organized opposition to a new Fremont ballpark. And even if the site issues were resolved, there’s still the very big issue of how the A’s would finance the ballpark construction without any Fremont aid.

The current plan calls for a 32,500-seat ballpark, 10,500 parking spots and a hotel.
