This would be good news if it happens: Dodgertown, the former spring-training home of the Los Angeles Dodgers, may end up as the home of numerous college-baseball tournaments.
RussMat Baseball, which already coordinates tournaments at Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven and a new facility in Auburndale in central Florida, is looking at shifting some of those tourneys to Dodgertown, now currently without a tenant or an operator. RussMay cannot continue operations at Chain of Lakes Park — Winter Haven wants to sell the land under the complex to a developer — so the availability of Dodgertown and Holman Stadium is alluring.
Over 200 teams will participate in RussMay tournaments this winter.
