Opponents of a proposed Northwoods League ballpark in suburban Milwaukee want to repeal the city approval of the plan and are seizing on a one-year delay in construction to argue their point.
Approval of the $2-million ballpark in Waukesha’s Frame Park was contentious, to say the least, and despite the city agreeing to the project, and the opponents are using the delay to make some legal arguments. The major one — or the one that may force the city to revisit the issue — is that developer Chad Bauer never submitted the proper paperwork or paid the appropriate fee to receive a conditional-use permit from the city. It’s a technical point that can easily be fixed, to be sure, but we’re guessing the opponents really don’t care that the fee wasn’t paid.
