Augie Garrido, the all-time winningest coach in NCAA Division I baseball, was arrested Saturday night and charged with driving while under the influence. He was immediately suspended from his job by University of Texas athletic-department officials, pending a review of the arrest.
Garrido was pulled over in downtown Austin after a policeman saw him driving without his headlights on. A field-sobriety test determined Garrido’s blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit, and he was arrested.
