As far as storylines go, bringing in the NL Central champs is a pretty good one, with Lou Piniella coming back with one of the most historic teams in baseball. But it’s not as though Piniella hasn’t returned before when he managed Seattle and Tampa Bay, and we’re guessing the Yankees would sell out the place even if the Brooklyn Cyclones (short season; NY-Penn League) were taking the field. Our idea: have the Mets and Yankees square off over the weekend, with each team hosting a game in their new ballpark.
