Mariners Add Fully Flexible Season Ticket Membership

Seattle Mariners

In what is being billed as a first in Major League Baseball, the Seattle Mariners are adding a fully flexible season ticket membership for the 2020 season. This gives fans the opportunity to build their plan throughout the season – choosing how many tickets, seat locations and games they want – at discounts ranging from 10% to 50% off the dynamic single-game ticket price.

“We are excited to bring this new, fully-flexible membership option to our fans and give them the power to customize their ballpark experience to fit their busy schedules and ever-changing lifestyles,” said Frances Traisman, Seattle Mariners Senior Vice President, Sales. “With the option to purchase up to eight tickets per game in a variety of seating locations, Flex Memberships offer a solution for all fans – families, friends and businesses – to enjoy the season at T-Mobile Park.”

While many major league teams have adopted monthly subscription or ticket voucher models, the Mariners Flex Membership is unique in the amount of control it gives fans to create a fully customizable ticket experience. Flex Members choose from six membership levels – Rookie, Pro, Veteran, MVP, Hall of Fame and Legend – each with their own associated discounts and benefits. Through their online Member portal, they select the number of games, tickets and seat locations for each game. If their plans change, they can easily add or exchange tickets at the discounted member rate. Flex Memberships will be available all season long, and fans can upgrade their level at any time and receive an increased discount for tickets for future games that season.

All six Flex Membership Levels give Members the ability to attend all 81 home games. For example, with the Rookie membership, at $600, one person could access all 81 games with standing-room-only ticket for each game, or watch 32 Value Games from View Level seats or choose 10 games in Terrace Club seats, or a combination of those options.

The Mariners have long sought capitalized on the Seattle region’s culture of technology and innovation to find ways to improve the fan experience. The Mariners were the first pro sports team to have a website (Mariners.org, launched November 30, 1994), the first to have a website in a second language (Japanese), and were the first team to sell tickets online (1996). The increasing use of mobile and app-based ticketing is further improving the fans’ game day experience.

“Most of these fan-centric advances have come about because our partners at Ticketmaster are transforming the entire ticketing experience to fit the way people live today,” said Malcolm Rogel, Mariners Vice President of Ticket & Event Services. “The Flex Membership program is the latest result of this longstanding collaborative partnership with the industry’s global leader in tech innovation.”

“We are proud of our nearly 40-year partnership with the Mariners, who share our commitment to putting fans first,” said Clay Luter, EVP & Co-Head of Sports for Ticketmaster, North America. “From selling the first online ticket ever to their early adoption of our digital ticketing platform to this new Flex Membership program, the Mariners have always embraced the latest in Ticketmaster’s cutting edge technology, which has made them the perfect partner in revolutionizing the fan experience.”

In addition to the flexibility and discounts over the cost of single-game tickets, Flex Members have access to all the benefits available to Mariners Season Ticket Members:
